Integrity

As I lie in bed I'm trying to sleep because I work in the morning, I can't help but think about the movie "Courageous." Last night my wife and I went to see this movie, which portrays 5 men attempting to live life courageously as they do right by their children and wives even when life is tough. It is in the tough moments of life where their integrity is tested. This makes me wonder about my own life and if I will in fact stand strong to what I know God would have me do? Will I cave like a coward because the answer isn't simple? Hopefullynot. I want to be one who is willing to stand with integrity by making the right choices no matter the level of difficulty or how alone I may become. God gives strngth to His children to be witnesses for Him and will not make us do it alone. It is in this truth that I find comfort. God calls me to stand strong, sometimes alone in human standards, but never without Him. I'm blessed to have a wife who also wants to live as God calls, butnot everyone is so blessed with support from another human. But God will never leave your side.

This is what's on my heart and I hope you may feel God's hand helping you stand with integrity as you do what is right as Christ's child wand not what seems right in the sight of a sinner.

Share the Gift!

Merry Christmas everyone! I know it's not midnight but I wanted to share with you a reminder of the beauty of Christmas. With this being the day thay celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus it has made me think of how trivial some of the hub-bub is unless we share the love of Christ with the world. Today at church, two of our young college students were prayed over as they intend to share Christ's love. One is going on a 3 wek journey to India and the other a 3 month adventure to Africa. Both plan to travel in order to share the love of Christ with those in the respective countries. This is what Christmas is about, Christ's love! He came to earth fiving us the gift of life by what the sacrifice on the cross. So as we share time with friends and family let these two young men be an example to the rest of us to be a light to a dark world this season and all year long! Merry Christmas again and God bless!

Musing Again!

After some time without an adaquate means to compose my musings, I'm now back and able to put what goes on inside my head into this blog. So stay tuned for my musings to start coming on a regular basis once again!

But while I'm typing let me share something that was taught at church this morning. Being the Christmas season we had asmal children's program which out pastor tied into his lesson. Teaching from Luke 2, he read about the lowly shepherds, the guys who were considered dirty and often outcast were the some the first tohear the good news. They are the ones who raised the sheep, the very animal used for sacrifices and they were considered outcast by society. Not byourLord though. It was these men that God announced His birth too! This irony made me wonder if we allow ourselves to forget that Christ came for everyone, not just the people we think deserve His love. In reality we are all sinners saved byHis magnificant grace and this is the reason we celebrate His birth which is good news for all mankind!
